Please be aware that a new messaging service called MJOG is now being used by GP surgeries across the country to communicate with their patients.
If you have a correct mobile number listed with us you will receive 2 information messages from us over the coming week:
- 1. An invitation to download the MJOG Messenger app.
Whilst you do not have to download the app to receive reminders/messages we would encourage you to do so to realise it’s full benefits. It will also save NHS funds!
- 2. A message to allow you to Opt Out of receiving any communication from us by text should you wish to do so.
- 3. A message to check we hold the correct mobile number for you/your family.
The medical record of many young adults and children will still have the mobile number of their parent/guardian listed from their younger years.
We feel it is important to give competent young adults the option to seek medical advice confidentially should they wish to do so.
We therefore urge you to discuss this with your child and consider updating their record to remove your number and replace with their personal mobile number to reflect their wishes.
Please note when you receive messages via MJOG the number displayed will be 07903587381 – please rest assured this is genuine, but please do not use this number to try to call the surgery.
