COVID-19 Vaccine Update – Booking Your Appointment

Houghton Close Surgery is working in collaboration with local pharmacies and local GP practices to provide a Covid-19 vaccination for our patients.

Eligibility Groups 1 to 4 (Over 70s, residents in care homes, front line health and social care workers and clinically extremely vulnerable patients) should have all been contacted to offer vaccination. If you have slipped the net please telephone the practice on 01525 300898.

Group 6 – 16/64 year olds with underlying health conditions and carers

We are currently vaccinating patients in ‘group 6’ of the national programme.

For this cohort only, bookings CANNOT be made via the national booking service in our locality. Instead, we are sending invitations to book via text message (or phoning those with no mobile number listed with the surgery). The messages are sent in batches and staggered to work alongside the weekly vaccine supply.

Please do not call the surgery to ask to be booked in – we have to work in a specific order.

Unfortunately, this week the vaccine supply is low, but we have been promised a big delivery week commencing 15th March so will be sending invitations out accordingly.

Group 7 – 56-59 year olds

We are aware that in some areas of the country patients in cohort 7 are now being invited for their vaccination. We will invite these patients ONCE all those in earlier groups have been offered vaccinations.
Please keep an eye on the website for updates.

If you are either in a vulnerable group, over 60 or a carer and have not been vaccinated yet, please book your appointment or let us know if you wish to decline.
