We are aware that our phone lines are extremely busy at the moment. Please be assured we are in daily discussions with our phone provider to procure further phone lines to deal with this issue.
The situation has arisen due to a number of factors:
- Advice from PHE to prevent online booking of appointments to allow us to screen all patients re COVID.
- A huge increase in telephone triage, hence the surgery using more phone lines to dial out to patients.
- Having to limit the booking of flu vaccinations to telephone booking only, to allow us to screen all patients and advise them of the protocols surrounding the clinics at Parkside Hall due to COVID (approx.2300 in total).
We apologise for any inconvenience this is causing. We are doing all we can to find solutions including upgrading our phone system and looking to introduce e-consultations to reduce phone traffic into the surgery and give greater choice regarding appointments.
We would ask that if your query is of a non urgent nature (including booking of flu vaccination) you wait until after 10:30 to call us to help reduce the early morning pressure on the phone lines.
